Green Fork

Since becoming bad wools and moving to Crosby, we don’t get to South Liverpool as much as we used to but when you’re invited to sample the menu at Chef Sean Paul’s latest veggie venture Green Fork…you grab a couple of mates, a few gin tins and run for the next train to Aigburth…and that’s exactly what we did.

Chef Sean Paul is a renowned vegan specialist chef who has cooked for the likes of Kate Moss, our very own Paul McCartney and now … us.

Because of the small plates menu, we asked the usual questions – ‘Roughly how many dishes do you recommend per person?’. As if by magic, Sean Paul turned up and told us he was sending us a bit of everything!  Winner winner.

Every plate that arrived was truly delicious, our favourites were the coated olives (proof that everything tastes better after being fried), the crispy duck salad which was phenomenal, and the cauli and kale pakoras (which came with a chutney that I could have just drank straight from the pot).

The food just kept coming and coming, no complaints from us though.

Just after saying how we couldn’t eat another bite…the waitress brought out a vegan cheesecake, a brownie and a vegan brownie, all with a dollop of vegan ice cream…well, it would have been rude not to…so we managed to polish all that off too.  Hands down the best brownie we have ever had…took all my willpower not to lick the plate.

After dessert the only thing to do was to finish the meal with a caramel espresso martini.  We had a truly wonderful evening, great food, relaxed atmosphere and a special mention goes to the waitresses that were all so friendly and were able to talk us through all the dishes and the wines with genuine interest.

The expectations for the food at Green Fork were pretty high but the reality was even better…great little spot, vegan wines and some of the most incredible veggie and vegan food we have ever tasted.  Don’t just tell your veggie mates about this place, tell everyone.
